My Review – The Loyal Friend
We meet the four main character, all women – Jade’s just started works as a fitness instructor in the gym where they all meet, little do they know their lives are already embroiled. Natalie is a quiet and meek librarian, Susan is a woman on the edge – she’s so close to losing everything – including her husband. Then there’s Grace, who appears to be the perfect wife and mother. The story is told through each of these characters points of view, with chapters by each, as their secrets and lies come to light.
The story takes you to and fro in time, going from Natalie’s childhood, to current day and each chapters takes you deeper into why the four are where they are in the stages of their lives and when Jade doesn’t show up to teach her class at the gym the Police get involved and the lies each tell roll them further into the web of lies that been building for years.
Natalie’s brother died in jail, she’s been alone since. And Susan’s upbringing makes her spend money frivolously on things she doesn’t need. Long suffering Grace needs to get her life back on track. And Jade has secrets that bind them all.
Can Jade get her revenge? Will she earn back the respect she believes she deserves?
