After completing a psychology degree, Alice Hunter became an interventions facilitator in a prison. There, she was part of a team offering rehabilitation programmes to men serving sentences for a wide range of offences, often working with prisoners who’d committed serious violent crimes. Previously, Alice had been a nurse, working in the NHS. She now puts her experiences to good use in fiction. THE SERIAL KILLER’S WIFE draws heavily on her knowledge of psychology and the criminal mind.
My Review – The Serial Killer’s Wife
Tom Hardcastle and his wife Beth and young daughter Poppy, who they both idolise, live in a character cottage in Lower Tew, a desirable village, an idyllic life you could say. Until there a knock at the door and it’s the police. They would like to ask Tom some questions, about the the disappearance of a former girlfriend, Katie Williams.
Beth tries to carry on the best she can, but the neighbours and villagers gossip, how can they ever come back from this?
This is suspense filled and full of tilts and twists . The chapters move between the characters and tell the plot as they go along, going back to when Tom and Katie met. The book is fast paced and compelling. A thriller that leaves you thinking how easy it could be to engineer situations.
